SCHOLARSHIPS

In June of 1992, with much foresight and consideration for the students and teachers of the Bellville and Butler community, a group of concerned citizens created the Clear Fork Valley Foundation, a non-profit organization. The Clear Fork Valley Foundation is classified as a 501(c)(3) corporation. The purpose of the Clear Fork Valley Foundation is to foster education within the Clear Fork Valley community and to improve the general well-being of the community with support from the Clear Fork Valley Foundation. The financial resources generated are allocated to groups and individuals to improve the schools and community.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

The Clear Fork Valley Foundation manages a comprehensive grant and scholarship program, ranging from Senior Scholarships, College Graduate Scholarship, Enrichment Scholarships, Leadership-by-Example Scholarship and Program-Project Grants. The Foundation's Grant and Scholarship Program was established on the premise that the need for education exists regardless of an individual's race, religion, sex, age, or economic background and that the students have a responsibility in the educational process.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Clear Fork Valley Foundation, in an effort to recognize academic excellence in both college preparatory and vocational education programs, established the Senior Scholarship program. These scholarships awarded to graduating seniors are based on criteria established for each individual scholarship.

A student is eligible to receive only one Senior Scholarship. Recipients of Senior Academic Scholarships are selected and scored with a composite value based on ACT scores, overall Grade Point Average, and the GPA of the specific discipline. These criteria are designed to objectively measure academic performance.

Senior Academic Scholarships include: science, English, business, agricultural science, social studies, computer science, home economics, foreign language, industrial technology, two for art, and two for mathematics.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

These scholarships enable Elementary, Middle School, and Senior High School applicants to pursue their educational interests beyond those programs offered by the school system. They are not to be used to fund tuition for courses offered as a part of the school curricula. They enable students to meet, work and compete with other students locally, statewide and nationally.

For a student to qualify, the program selected must be educational in nature. Teacher recommendations are considered in the selection process. The Foundation may award up to a maximum of 50% of the program's tuition cost. Financial need and other available grant and tuition monies are considered when determining the amount to be awarded to an individual student. Applications are available in each school through a teacher representative, or print an application now. These scholarships are awarded in the spring.

PROGRAM / PROJECT GRANTS

Program / Project Grants fund educational programs or projects that are not funded by other sources. These grants are for innovative and creative programs, projects, or activities which emphasize new approaches to teaching, to stimulating thought, and to expanding curricula.

Grant applications include a program description, goals and objectives, line-item budgets, and a means of evaluating the program/project's success.

These grants are available for all Clear Fork Local School District grade levels and have the advantage of reaching and influencing many students. Applications are available in each school, or get application instructions now.

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE

Annually, ten Leadership-by-Example Scholarships are awarded to Clear Fork Middle School students. Three scholarships are awarded to students in each Middle School grade and one scholarship to a student in the Special Needs/Life Skills Program.

Middle School teachers nominate students who have demonstrated exemplary academic effort and citizenship qualities, as established within scholarship criteria by the Foundation's Grant & Scholarship Committee.

This scholarship is intended to recognize students who apply themselves to the best of their ability. Accordingly, grade-point averages are not a criteria for the scholarship.

COLLEGE GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is awarded to a recent college graduate who has majored in education and is a classroom teacher. This scholarship is awarded in the fall. Those eligible are recent college graduates limited to:
